I'm glad I can finally put a visual to the 'paper flowers' you described to me. When I was little I had a tacky 'make-your-own-paper-flowers' kit - the plastic stems connect to a little green bud (which was scented) in the middle of the flower. They're much nicer than the flowers I produced on my bedroom floor.
