FREE

FREE installation by Sean Martindale. "The Art Gallery of Ontario kindly let me use their parking lot for this project. It’s a fenced-off enclosure that bisects Butterfield Park and Grange Park here in downtown Toronto". The installation is there until the city's squirrels and birds chew away the string for their nests. via wooster

My friend Evan and I have a bit of a location joke, which is why I thought this was so funny. But... it's cute & clever as well. The Hello Napkins

breathless

The first image took my breath away and I don't know why. But Wallo VillaCorta's portfolio is quite amazing. Inspiring. Beautiful.

mishy gets ryhthm

Last night, on my ride home from a pretty wild Sunday Session at the Fox, I stumbled into The Joynt for a pit stop only to find a cool band setting up. As I grabbed a water from the bar (to sober me up for the next leg of my ride home) I noticed a familiar face on the lounge. Could that really be...? Yes! It was Mr Tex Perkins! A few minutes later he jumped up with the band and started singing Jonny Cash covers like my favourite Folsom Prison Blues!

Tex has been touring this year doing The Men In Black – The Jonny Cash Story, and I can’t believe I got to see a free sideshow just on my way home. So lucky!

P.S check out this great video of Tex & Rachel Tidd singing Jackson

buro tree

Christmas brings out the extremes in me. I love visiting my family, eating pudding with custard and watching my nephews play with their new toys. But this merry time of year also makes me cringe. For some reason I hate tinsel. Can't stand the sight of it! I can't explain why, but I find it so gawdy, ugly and basically pointless. These Buro trees are perfect. Simple, stylish and they have been designed and made with a far smaller ecological footprint than your usual pine tree (covered in shiny plastic crap).

fox & rinzen

Hotel Fox, Copenhagen. 61 rooms designed by 21 different artists and was was initially conceived as part of a marketing strategy for the launch of the VW Fox. The idea was to get young designers and artist to paint some rooms and create a hip urban hotel that would open at the same time as the European launch of the car.

My favorite room is the Rinzen Sleep Seasons Room. "Hand-painted walls, custom designed carpets, hand-dyed, pieced and appliqued bedspread and curtains. Guests sleep inside a tent (on a comfortable futon) giving an otherworldly outdoor camping experience."

yan

Photos from the Valley by my friend Yan Chan. Yan is a great friend, and has inspired me and my photography so much over the last year. We are planning to collaborate on a photo shoot before I leave for Melbourne.

How beautiful is the first photo. It takes me back to when I was 18... young giddy love!
