I want to get High

The High Line was originally constructed in the 1930s, to lift dangerous freight trains off Manhattan's streets. When all sections are complete, the High Line will be a mile-and-a-half-long elevated park, running through the West Side neighborhoods of the Meatpacking District, West Chelsea and Clinton/Hell's Kitchen.

It features an integrated landscape, designed by landscape architects James Corner Field Operations, with architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, combining meandering concrete pathways with naturalistic plantings. Fixed and movable seating, lighting, and special features are also included in the park.

The long-awaited Phase II of the High Line—running from 20th to 30th Streets is now officially open. New York, you are growing on me baby. Photos via NY Times.

Rockaway Taco

Todd Selby - photographer, turned film maker never fails to inspire me. The documentary below looks at Andrew Field’s entrepreneurial taco bar, Rockaway Taco. Rockaway Beach is notoriously known for its seaside-front commission housing and somewhat seedy community. The eatery has just completed business for its third summer and closes for the winter, while owner Andrew sets off on amazing surfing ventures around the world. Living the dream.
