So when I decided to move to Sydney a lot of people told me I should move to the Inner West. So today I went exploring Newtown. Here's some pics I took on my wander through the back laneways on a muggy Sunday. Overall I am quite happy to be back near the beach.
Favio Martinez, also known as Curiot, is an artist from Mexico City that creates amazing murals & art that allude to the mythical traditions of his homeland. I'm tipping him as one urban artist to watch.
Jeremy Geddes is an amazing Melbourne based artist who's photo-realistic paintings (above) are rendered in meticulous detail, an arduous process that combines scrupulous observation, fine brushwork and delicate layers of glaze. Jeremy has an upcoming show titled "exhale" at Jonathan Levine Gallery in NYC, and there is already a huge waiting list to even try to own an original.
UK-based illustrator Carne Griffiths creates these striking portraits with uncommon mediums such as tea brandy, vodka, whiskey, graphite and calligraphy ink (via my fave blog This is Colossal).
