forty-sixth at grace
I'm not sure if it's from organising a wedding, or watching too much Master Chef on TV, but lately I am really appreciating the art of cake decorating. I want to give it a try myself, and I'm sure my friends & future hubby will quite happy to critiqe my baking skills. Yum!

Mishy Design - The Paper Boat
PARK(ing) Day is an annual, global event that takes place in numerous world cities. The idea behind the event is to encourage people and organisations to temporarily transform metered parking spots into PARK(ing) spots – temporary public parks.
My Paper Boat Design, PARK(ing) Day Brisbane 2008
The paper boat in construction. We sourced materials from Reverse Garbage.
We filled the boat with oragami boats that were made from recycled architects yellow trace paper.
The paper boat in the city.
Young Designers Group. Me (Mishy) far right.
Last Year PARK(ing) Day was held on 19 September 2008. With 47 PARKs, Brisbane was the third biggest PARK(ing) city worldwide!
I designed The Paper Boat for Hassell's Young Designers Group. My idea was to create a car sized paper boat to "park" in the city. It represented Brisbane as a river city and encompassed ideas of sustainability, alternative transport, and created considerable interest on and around Brisbane's CBD. The antics of the day were heightened by the additional challenge of having to move the boat, every hour on the hour to avoid parking fines! I don't think many people searching for a park that day were too impressed, but it was a great success. Can't wait for the next one.
